Presbyteral Council
According to Canon 264 of the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches, a Presbyteral Council must be established in the Eparchy, it constitutes the institutional body that represents all the Eparchy’s priests. It is the symbol of the communion between the Bishop and the eparchial priests.
The actual Presbyteral Council is composed of a priest representing the four parishes of Nigeria, one religious priest from the Lebanese Maronite Order representing the missions of Abidjan and Dakar, a priest representing the four parishes of Ghana, Burkina, Togo and Benin.
In addition, to the Vicar General and the Chancellor who join by the nature of their office.
This Council meets twice a year during the General Priests’ Conference, once in Africa and once in Lebanon.
